Spring has officially arrived in the nation’s capital and the District is buzzing as tourists and locals alike flock to partake in the famous Cherry Blossom Festival. The 2016 edition started with a bang, as Washingtonian insiders brought the springtime spirit to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center last week for the annual Pink Tie Party, the signature fundraiser and kickoff for the Festival.
Donning their best pink tones and pastel styles, hundreds of guests were in attendance on March 18 for the highly-anticipated celebration hosted by Trade Center Management Associates (TCMA), here at the Reagan Building. Some of the evening’s most popular highlights included live entertainment, a silent auction and delicious bites prepared by our very own Executive Chef Xavier Deshayes. Offering some hometown comfort food to the affair were the 15 local restaurants that also provided tasty snacks for the occasion (Agora DC, Dolci Gelati and Praline Bakery, just to name a few!)
And since there are few things DMV residents like more than partying for a good cause, all the proceeds from the event directly benefit the Festival’s year-round programming and overall longevity. Thanks to celebrations like the Pink Tie Party, we ensure that the Cherry Blossoms remain free, blooming and open to the public for years to come.
