On January 28, brides and recently engaged couples descended upon the Mandarin Oriental for Washingtonian Bride and Groom’s 10th annual wedding showcase, Unveiled. A one-stop shop for wedding inspiration, guests had the opportunity to meet with wedding experts from all industries, including members of our own team who were on hand to represent the Reagan Building as a premier wedding venue. Featuring a custom built “living bar” studded with 400 roses and geometric hexagon cutouts showcasing wedding photography of our most popular wedding spaces, our booth was a popular destination for those couples still searching for their perfect venue.

Complementing the floral booth décor, were handmade lavender-strawberry lollipops crafted by our in-house culinary team; speckled with gold foil, these coveted sweet treats were a popular addition showcasing our team’s creativity and capabilities as a full service venue. Guests at our booth were invited to take part in a playful Madlibs-style sheet – writing out their love story; completed sheets were entered into a giveaway for a chance to win a basket filled with wedding-inspired goods.

Surrounded by wedding inspiration, couples sipped on specialty cocktails, tasted gourmet bites and took the opportunity to mingle and chat with the district’s leading experts in everything from florals, catering, photography, entertainment, and more – the day’s activities culminated in a bridal runway show featuring on-trend gowns from The Bridal Room.

Guests were treated to live demonstrations and were encouraged to attend panels throughout the day, which included an “Ask The Experts” discussion moderated by Washingtonian’s Amy Moeller. New to Unveiled, this conversation-style panel highlighted leaders in the fields of styling, entertainment, photography, and catering. Trends to look out for include small plates and shared dining experiences that are more collaborative and engaging as well as focusing on the entire wedding guest experience as a whole.
