Meet Our Executive Chef

Executive Chef of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Houman Gohary brings 35 years of culinary excellence to DC’s premier events venue–the site for some of the city’s most notable meetings, special events and weddings. With a passion for farm-to-table cuisine and sustainably sourcing ingredients, Chef Gohary has developed an extensive international culinary resume. He’s completed cuisine-specific training programs in Osaka, Barcelona and Torino; supported international restaurant grand openings across the globe; and was a host chef for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Park City, UT. With extensive experience and international training, Chef Gohary now leads the talented in-house culinary team at the Reagan Building.

  • Starting in early summer and continuing through late fall, Wilson Plaza transforms into a lively fresh food market every Wednesday, featuring  25+  local vendors at Capital Harvest on the Plaza. On select days, our culinary team hosts live cooking demonstrations and offers delicious samples for the public. In the photo above, Chef Houman and his team prepare a Grilled Panzanella Salad, highlighting fresh, colorful vegetables like zucchini and tomatoes—perfect for any summer cookout or picnic.   • Our chefs actively engage with the local community. RRBITC chefs have participated in Food & Friends’ Annual Chef's Best Dinner & Auction for the past two years. This event unites business and community leaders to enjoy gourmet tastings from over 30 Washington DC region's top chefs and mixologists. Proceeds from the event support Food & Friends, enabling them to prepare and deliver 1.9 million free, medically tailored meals and groceries to 5,000 individuals living with serious or chronic illnesses, including their dependents and caregivers

  • For the Best Buddies Homecoming: Two Parties One Purpose Gala, RRBITC’s Executive Chef Houman Gohary has teamed up with Buddies Sous Chefs to serve signature dishes. Leading up to the event, the Best Buddies student paired with Chef Gohary receives an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience, learning to prepare the selected dish for the event. This gala aims to raise essential funds for Best Buddies programs in Virginia and Washington, DC empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to form meaningful friendships with peers, secure jobs, improve communication and advocacy skills, and live independently, while also offering support for their families.
