The Pavilion room was transformed into a northern lights, winter escape for our annual appreciation event, Sparkle Lounge. Upon arrival, guests quickly traveled up north to their final destination - a cozy, snow covered chalet. When stepping out of the elevators, an ice skater looped around an indoor rink, capturing guests’ attention as they made their way into the chalet complete with chic lodge décor, themed sips and bites and plenty of plush furniture. The main Pavilion space featured colorful light projections, large igloo installations with elegant lounge seating, a video wall showing the Aurora Borealis and dramatic draping to mimic cascading, snow covered mountains creating an outdoor Northern Lights experience right here in the heart of Washington, DC.

While mingling and making their way through the different elements of the event, guests indulged in the roaming caviar bar cart, and tapas style stations with Nordic inspired menu items including Elk and Venison Skewers with a lingonberry sauce, Beet Gravlax, Duck Breast with red cabbage compote topped with an orange sauce, and Spinach Spätzle with pancetta and parmesan cheese. In the adjoining private dining room of the Pavilion, guests were transported to a starry night escape with faux fire pits and a make your own s’mores station. All of the themed sips and bites were curated by our in-house culinary team lead by Executive Chef, Xavier Deshayes.
Guests fully immersed themselves in various event activations including a “Drink Your Selfie” bar, allowing guests to have their selfie printed onto their cocktail in the form of an edible foam, a live photo mosaic wall in addition to a classic photo booth, and, a B.Y.O.B station (Break Your Own Bark) for guests to end the night on a sweet note.
Not only did this event bring a piece of the Arctic Circle to DC, but it served as a perfect example of how our Pavilion room can be arranged and designed for any theme. Year after year, Sparkle Lounge continues to offer us the opportunity to showcase how our event spaces can be reimagined and transformed into any vision.
